Mayor Richard Bissen said he made the move after talking about it with his Lahaina advisory team, the Red Cross and other partners.West Maui has about 11,000 hotel rooms, or about half of Maui's total. Travelers evacuated those hotels after the Aug. 8 fire raged through Lahaina town, killing at least 99 people and destroying more than 2,000 buildings. Hawaii Gov. Josh Green last month declared West Maui would officially reopen to tourism on Oct. 8 to bring back badly needed jobs and help the economy recover. Bissen modified the governor’s declaration with a phased plan, allowing a small section on the northern edge of West Maui to open first with the rest to follow at an undetermined date. The community has had an impassioned debate about when to welcome travelers back to the disaster-stricken region. Some residents drafted a petition opposing the return of tourists, saying the community wasn't ready. Bissen said Monday that workers are ready to return to their jobs while acknowledging “this isn’t for everyone.”Those who aren’t prepared to go back to work on Nov. 1 should talk to their employers and “continue to seek the help and attention that they need,” Bissen said at a news conference in Lahaina that was livestreamed online.The mayor said many residents are also concerned about not having child care. He said the county’s partners are working on that issue. Residents who have been staying in West Maui hotels and other short-term accommodations after losing their homes in the fire won't lose their lodging, the mayor said.“We’re assured by the Red Cross that their housing will not be in jeopardy,” Bissen said. The mayor said the reopening schedule was voluntary and said some properties have already reopened on their own.。

四 | 2023年抚顺粮食产量88.1万吨，比1949年增长3.6倍。肉类产量由1975年的1.05万吨增加到2023年的11.3万吨。         　　清原龙胆、新宾辽细辛分别占全国市场份额90%、70％，食用菌生产规模达到2亿段、山野菜和中药材生产面积分别达28万亩和110万亩。农业生产力的巨大飞跃，为农村经济发展、实现农民富裕夯实坚实基础。         　　工业经济：基础雄厚，铸就辉煌          　　75年来，工业经济总量稳步增长，产品品种产量不断扩大。工业总产值从1949年的1.0亿元增加到2023年过千亿元，原煤、钢材产量分别从1949年的204.7万吨、0.3万吨到2023年的356.9万吨、457.5万吨。         　　石化、矿业、钢铁成为抚顺工业经济的中流砥柱，生物制药、化工新材料等新质工业日益发展壮大。“工业立市、工业强市、产业兴市”发展战略正为抚顺经济高质量发展提供强力支撑。         　　固定投资：固本强基，日新月异          　　75年来，投资规模不断扩大。全市累计完成固定资产投资由1950年的0.3亿元增加到2023年的183.2亿元。

五 |          　　清原抽水蓄能、沈白高铁等优质项目陆续落地、开工建设。老旧小区改造、十里滨河公园、月牙岛生态公园等基础设施日趋完善，城市面貌如诗如画。         　　消费市场：兴商活市，潜力无限          　　75年来，消费总量持续扩大。全市社会消费品零售总额从1952年的1.1亿元增加到2023年的192亿元。         　　万达广场、双燕超市、汇龙家电等中心商圈繁荣兴盛，乡村半程马拉松、朝鲜族文化嘉年华暨朝鲜族民俗节、满族风情旅游节等文体旅融合活动拉动节假日经济持续发展。         　　城乡居民：收入稳增，共同富裕          　　75年来，抚顺市经济持续向好，发展质量稳步提升，民生福祉持续增进。2023年，全市城镇居民人均可支配收入为40236元，比1981年增长84.6倍，年均增长率为11.2%；2023年，全市农村居民人均可支配收入为20934元，比1981年增长69倍，年均增长率为10.6%。
